Restaurant Ordering / Loyalty App

As many people have already heard, our current club manager Paul Batchelor has decided to step away from the position. Paul has done a fantastic job in his role as Club Manager, and so I am glad to announce he has agreed to join the board of directors. Replacing Paul will be a familiar face to some of our long-time members of the club.

club manager aug2018Jody Smart (pictured) will be joining the AMCC as our new club manager. More recently, Jody has been the bar manager at the Deer Lodge Curling club. She hasn’t been a stranger to our curling facility though as she has been playing in our Wednesday Business Women’s league in recent years.

All of us on the Board are excited to have her back at the club and wish her luck in her new position at AMCC.

The Board of Directors has an immediate need for one or more volunteer Advertising Sales Representatives, in support of new sponsorship opportunities to be made available to the local business community for the 2018-19 curling season.

At a high level, duties will include:

  • Developing a list of prospective sponsors based on a map of businesses in the area. Guidance and assistance will be provided by the Board of Directors.
  • Personally contacting prospective sponsors to present advertising opportunities available at AMCC. Printed and online promotional materials will be provided in support of this activity.
  • Order completion and accounting tasks (collecting payment, issuing receipts).
  • Collection of required graphics files, and following-up to obtain approval on final ad design.

Sales activities will commence in the first week of May, and will continue through the end of August.

Strong oral and written communication skills are required; previous sales or marketing experience would be an asset. Further details will be made available to individuals who express interest.

If you have talent and time that you would be willing to contribute towards a project that has potential to make a substantial positive impact within our Club, please send your contact details to This email address is being protected from spambots. Earlier in April, AMCC's Masters League, Senior Men’s League, and Stick Leagues all contributed to the undertaking of a restaurant flooring upgrade project.

April 9 was the day volunteers chose to prepare for the new flooring for the Restaurant. Taking out the flooring and Tile was a difficult dusty undertaking. George Archibald, Harry Dyck, John Abrams, Rick Park, and Pat Kilcullen took the dirty job and worked until it was finished.

Norm Scott, Sid Biliski, Harold Cook, Archie Mullin, Barb Sadler, and Georgina Mullin cleaned the dust and washed down the restaurant etc.

Harold Cook, Dave Boehmer, and Greg Lavalee worked long hours to prepare the flooring and put down the New flooring. Harold Cook ‘s company FISC supplied much of the flooring products for the undertaking.

The CFB League will be installing new window blinds at a later date. Thanks to the dedicated volunteers for these improvements to the Restaurant.

As another curling season comes to an end, we would like to say a final "thank you" to all of our sponsors, supporters, volunteers, and of course - curlers, for another successful year at Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club.

Co-inciding with the arrival (finally!) of nice Spring weather - our annual volunteer appreciation night will be held on April 20 (watch our Facebook page for pictures) - and planning is already well underway for the 2018-19 season!

A record number of AMCC Past Presidents gathered in the Club rooms 28 March 2018 for an evening of great food, wee bit of drink, conversation and reminiscing. Current Club President, Bruce Wilkinson, introduced a number of ongoing issues which will impact the facility at some point in time.

The corporate knowledge, imparted by many of those in attendance, will assist future Boards in making the best possible decisions on behalf of the membership and guests. These Past Presidents are truly deserving of this small token of appreciation.
