Restaurant Ordering / Loyalty App

Congratulation to Team JT Ryan of the Thursday night league in winning the 2019 AMCC Men’s Club Championship. Pictured from left to right are Ted Cade, Al Purdy, Brendan Cade and JT Ryan (Bruce McFarlane not present).

Team Ryan defeated Team Radford 8-1 in the final game. Team Ryan (without JT) will represent AMCC at the Provincial Curling Club Championship Winnipeg Regional in November 2019.

 
 
 

The Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club held a successful Senior Men’s Bonspiel (Archie ‘Spiel, March 19-22) with 32 teams and 4 Events.

Winner in the First Event (pictured) was Laurie Hogg team with Gord MacKenzie, Lionel Bernhard, Al Bowman. Runner up was the Wayne Johnson Team.

2nd Event won by Leon Clegg Team, runner up was the Herb Bagnall Team.

3rd Event winner was the Brian Kushner Team, with runner up team Michael Wichenko.

Consolation Event won by Al Kohli Team and runner up the Al Chalk Team.

The curlers enjoy this Bonspiel and always say this is a Fun Bonspiel with many prizes.

 
 

Congratulations to Team Derek Blanchard for winning the 2019 Manitoba Men’s Curling Club Championship.

Pictured from left to right are Derek Blanchard, Brian Thomson, Scott Bruce and Danial Gagne. Team Blanchard defeated Team Taylor of Brandon by a score of 8-5 in the final.

History in the making Thursday February 7th as we held the first ever Manitoba Ladies Stick Curling Championships at Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club. Full contingent of 16 teams participated from various clubs in Manitoba - Fort Garry, Petersfield, Assiniboine Memorial, St. Vital, Steinbach, Warren, Granite, Victoria Beach and Springfield. Thank you all for participating. Here are your winners:

  • Congratulations to Shelley Schultz and Ina Laird from Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club as they will now represent Manitoba in Cornwall, PEI. later in March.

    Presenters were Harold Cook, President of the Manitoba Stick Curling Association and Ernie Oliver, Past President.
  • Runner Up to the Champions were Donna Gobeil and Brenda Frank from Fort Garry Curling Club.
  • Congratulations to the four other ladies that qualified: 
  • Joyce Dawydiuk and Betty Piotrowski from St. Vital Curling Club;
  •  Faye Hodge from Petersfield Curling Club and Liz MacCuish from Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club.

Next on the agenda is the 2019 OPEN Stick Curling Championships to be held in Steinbach, Manitoba commencing on Februray 15th running through to Sunday February 17th. Come on out and watch a few games. We will have the draw up on the MB Stick Curling site so you can follow along if you can’t make it out to watch.

History is made as AMCC's JT Ryan becomes the first Skip (along with Third Jacques Gauthier) to capture back-to-back-to-back @curlmanitoba junior men’s championships, stealing four in the sixth end for a 10-1 win over Jordon McDonald. The 2019 New Holland Canadian Junior Curing Championship will be held in Prince Albert, SK between January 19-27.

Christmas Cheer Board Donations

christmas cheer 2018Congratulations to the AMCC Men’s League for raising $492.00 for the Christmas Cheer Board.

Every December, all proceeds from 50/50 during the month are donated to the charity The cash donation jar at the bar raised an additional $79.50, and the CFB Senior Mixed Tuesday morning league also donated $100.00.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Recipient

We are excited to share that AMCC has been selected by @CTJumpstart to receive a grant from their Sport Relief Fund. The fund helps community sport organizations like ours continue to provide access to sport and play for Canadian kids.

Jumpstart funds will be utilized in direct support of our Youth Curling Program which will be expanded to include a fully certified head Instructor, clinicians as required and some additional equipment. The Program will focus on Youth from all Demographics and backgrounds as well as the potential to include the disabled.
